Drew Brees’s day-to-day oblique strain costs him another day

Saints Camp Football AP

When the Saints released their first preseason depth chart, Luke McCown was listed the second-string quarterback and Ryan Griffin the third.

That’s only really pertinent because the guy in front of them on the list missed another practice.

According to Evan Woodbery of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, quarterback Drew Brees missed another practice because of his strained left oblique.

He skipped Saturday’s scrimmage because of the injury, and the Saints had Sunday off, so it’s an extended rest for the veteran quarterback.

Brees was on the practice field and not wearing pads, and coach Sean Payton has only said he was “day-to-day.”

As we all are.

    Zero Superbowls since Bounty Gate.

Give the Minnesota Vikings our 2009 Lombardi trophy that we got cheated out of.

Vikings = Zero Superbowls since… EVER! From the looks of things, the Saints have a much shorter drought than the team you’re trolling, Troll. And another thing, it’s the George Halas Trophy. The Saints is an NFC team so get your trophies straight.

Vikings also zero Super Bowls since Bounty Gate…..and zero Super Bowls before Bounty Gate. Which adds up to zero Super Bowls in existence. Math, isn’t it great?

  11. mdd913 says: Aug 4, 2014 6:29 PM

Unless you are counting Super Bowl losses I mean, the Vikings do have a ton of those.

You know, pftpoet, do you ever think that maybe, just maybe, the Vikings lost because they turned the ball over waaaay too many times?

I mean, it’s something you should really consider.

  15. saintswin says: Aug 4, 2014 7:43 PM

I have some extra Dollar$$$ in my pocket to throw into a pot for a few EXTRA HARD licks on those Viking Quaterbacks on week 3. …. LOL!

Age is catching up with Brees. And his selfish contract is catching up with the whole team.

  18. kingbrees9 says: Aug 5, 2014 11:46 AM

This Brees is selfish thing is old . Brees makes 20 mil a year as a elite qb with 4 kids but flacco or cutler make more and are mediocre at best. Brees will be better soon and I hope he signs another 5 year deal after this year if he still wants to extend his career after hoisting his second Lombardi!!! Who dat !!!

LOL, that is a new one I hadn’t heard before.

  20. nomercy2012 says: Aug 5, 2014 4:23 PM

Brees haters still claiming him and his contract are selfish. smh…

Guess what? The SAINTS decided that he was worth what they are paying him. They are right up against the cap as they always are (I think Mickey likes the friction), and they still manage to sign the players they want to field the best possible team. So SUCK IT all ya’ll.

And Vikings – you lost because you committed too many turnovers! You thought you were going to come in and out “gunsling” that “soft-finesse” team and the defense had something else to say about that! You LOST. Your river of tears should be complete now. Build a bridge and GET OVER IT.

Brett Farve tried to be Superman but kept getting PUSHED TO THE GROUND. That’s how Tracy Porter intercepted the ball. lol
