Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garçon has returned to practice since injuring his hamstring last week, but he’s not past the point where the team is free of worries about things getting worse.

Garçon sat out Tuesday’s joint practice with the Patriots because of lingering soreness in the muscle, which he originally injured on July 28. When Garçon was first injured, he said he was just being safe by pulling himself out of practice and he said pretty much the same thing on Tuesday.

“Just being precautions,” Garçon said, via CSNWashington.com. “If it was a game today, I would have been able to play.”

There is a game scheduled for Thursday against New England, but no word on whether or not Garçon will be taking part. There’s also a question about safety Ryan Clark, who left Wednesday’s practice with a hamstring injury of his own. Clark said he was “trying to be smart about it” so that he could play on Thursday, but the team may decide that precaution remains the wisest course of action at this point in the schedule.
