Report: Saints sign TE Richard Quinn

The Saints have added a veteran tight end who’s shown some blocking ability in his NFL career.

The club signed Richard Quinn, most recently with Washington, on Tuesday, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

The 27-year-old Quinn was a second-round pick of the Broncos five years ago. In his two seasons with Denver (2009-2010), he caught just one total pass, but he got a positive grade as a run blocker in both campaigns from Pro Football Focus. In addition to two stints with Washington, Quinn has also spent time with Cincinnati and Arizona.

The Saints had five tight ends on the roster before adding Quinn, but rookie Je’Ron Hamm has been out of late. According to Nick Underhill of the Baton Rouge Advocate, Hamm suffered a stinger on Saturday.

Long lost brother of robert quinn?

They are brothers, not of the long-lost variety though.

The Saints have some serious depth at the TE position with Watson, Josh Hill and Hamm. Going to be hard to crack the roster there.

TE or WR? Do the Saints even know?

  10. nawlinssaints1956 says: Aug 5, 2014 7:49 PM

Where do I begin? How about Berrian was wide open on the sideline? 12 men in the huddle? Five turnovers? Still plenty of room for the diva QB to run 6 yards? No, the gunslinger tried again to fit the ball in where he shouldn’t have, and Porter jumped the route. It’s been 5 years; ya’ll gotta stop the whining. It makes Vikings fans look pathetic and desperate. BTW, your squad would not have beaten the Colts…

Love the Vikes hate cuz its make me nostalgic for those days of dreaming abt that first SB.
And I wanna say that the Vikes would have prolly beat the Colts in 09. The NFCCG was the game of the season.
