Bucs will honor Malcolm Glazer with uniform patch

The Buccaneers lost their long-time owner, Malcolm Glazer, earlier this year. For the 2014 season, the franchise will honor Glazer by wearing a patch with the initials “MG”.

The patch, which will be attached to the upper left side of the jerseys, will be used during Friday night’s preseason game against the Jaguars.

The Bucs also will unveil a tribute video to Glazer during its regular-season home opener against the Panthers, on September 7.

“Our father was very proud of his ownership of the Buccaneers and we know how special each football season was to him and our entire family. The support we have received since his passing has been overwhelming and we look forward to honoring him this season,” Buccaneers co-chairman Bryan Glazer said in a press release.

Malcolm Glazer, who bought the team in 1995, died on May 28 at the age of 85.
