Name a position on defense and the Cowboys have injury issues keeping them from full strength with their preseason schedule about to get underway.
The team addressed one area on Wednesday by signing a pair of defensive backs. The team announced that they have signed cornerback Korey Lindsey and safety Johnny Thomas, both of whom will accompany the team to San Diego and could play on Thursday night.
Lindsey was a seventh-round pick of the Bengals in 2011 and has spent time on the practice squads or offseason rosters of the Cardinals, Colts, Jaguars and others without seeing any action in a regular season game. Thomas has spent time with the Saints, but also has yet to see action in a regular season game.
The Cowboys will be without cornerback Morris Claiborne, safety Barry Church, cornerback Sterling Moore and others because of injuries. Cornerback Brandon Carr has also been absent from practice because of a death in his family, causing the Cowboys to look for healthy bodies to help them out until the health situation improves.
