Joe Flacco expects a much better offense in Baltimore

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is coming off a lousy season in which he had a career-low 73.1 passer rating while throwing more interceptions (22) than touchdown passes (19) for the first time in his career. But Flacco says that’s all in the past.

Although Flacco has been described as inconsistent in training camp, he believes he and his teammates are ready for a big year under new coordinator Gary Kubiak.

I expect our offense to be a lot better,” Flacco told the Ravens’ website. “We haven’t performed up to our standards, statistically. This offense is going to be pretty tough to handle. We’ve got a lot of weapons and we’ve got a lot of tough guys. I expect us to be up there at the top of the league.”

Flacco doesn’t see any reason the 2014 Ravens can’t be as good as the 2012 team that won the Super Bowl.

“There’s no doubt about it,” he said. “We have a great team. Our defense is revved up just like always. Our offense has a ton of weapons, some new guys. We’re working on a new offense, but I think everybody is really confident with it. Believe me, I’ve been a part of some good teams, obviously, and we’re just as good as ever.”

The Ravens need Flacco to be as good as he was two years ago, and much better than he was last year. That’s what Flacco expects of himself.
