Roger Goodell has met with Aldon Smith

49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith, who potentially faces NFL discipline after a series of off-field incidents, recently huddled with commissioner Roger Goodell, multiple media outlets reported Thursday night.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke indicated Smith and Goodell had met. Baalke would not disclose when the meeting took place, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Smith has not played in the 49ers’ preseason opener at Baltimore on Thursday night, according to Maiocco.

A meeting with Goodell can be a prelude to a decision on NFL discipline.  Smith pled no contest to a DUI charge and three weapons-related counts in May.

Money and talent means a person who should spend years in prison will get a slap on the wrist.

Isn’t this the same guy who made a bomb threat? He’s lucky the Federalies did ship him away for interrogation.

6 or 8 game suspension, appealed down to 4. (And I’m a Niners fan)

By NFL logic, his suspension should be only one game, smoke pot, you get 8 games, knock your girlfriend out cold, 2 games, gun possession and terrorist threats, only one game.

Pretty sure that Aldon was quite & his agent spoke. Yet, Roger was ultimately more dumber from the situation than before.

In the meeting Goodell probably apologized to Smith. This seems to be the way the NFL is heading.

Goodell is going to lay it on Aldon because he went soft with Ray Rice and caught a lot of flak for it.

Aldon is going to get 8 games, 4 for Ray Rice and 4 for himself.

Time to get tough again Roger…

Suspend both Smith and Gordon for the full season.

One for an airport bomb threat and the other for repeated violations of the drug policy plus a DUI for good measure.

One year each is warranted !!!!!!!

Smith’s mistake was meeting with Goodell. Until that meeting, Roger wasn’t aware of just how monumentally stupid Smith was. In his meeting he changed the 2 game suspension to 6 for weeks of shock therapy to kick start Smith’s motor function.
