The Falcons have added a linebacker who spent time on three practice squads a season ago.
The club announced the signing of first-year pro Darin Drakeford (6-1, 240) on Saturday night. The 23-year-old Drakeford had stints with the Chiefs, Giants and Colts in 2013.
A Maryland product, Drakeford notched 49 tackles (9.5 for loss) and six sacks as a senior for the Terrapins.
In a corresponding roster move, the Falcons waived rookie kicker Sergio Castillo. The Falcons are currently using all 90 roster spots.
