Johnson, Ebron still could play on Saturday night

Megatron and Ebraton (I tried) may still suit up and play during the Saturday night debut of Johnny Manziel.

Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, receiver Calvin Johnson and tight end Eric Ebron returned to practice on Friday.  It’s unclear whether either or both will play against the Browns.

Ebron missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to injury.  Johnson didn’t practice on Thursday for personal reasons.  Both took part in Friday’s walk-through session.

“There’s maybe a couple guys here or there [that don’t play], but we had to get through [Friday’s] practice and we’ll sit down with the coaches after this and go through every guy, every situation,” coach Jim Caldwell said.

Ebron, the 10th overall pick in the draft, adds a dynamic weapon to a Lions offense that will be coordinated by Joe Lombardi, a former Saints assistant who knows a thing or two about having a great tight end on the field.

The rookie certainly has been talking a lot – which is the opposite of what a rookie should do.

After passing on the quality DB’s in the draft, he had better be a difference maker on this team.

    Because I’m a life-long Lion’s fan, I’m not optimistic…

The Lions will sweep the Bears again this year. That is all.

I am sick of every other player being called ‘Whatever’ tron. Calvin Johnson earned that nickname. Fans and pundits need to get an imagination and think of something new for everyone else.

We didn’t pass on any corners, he was the best pick available at 10….for those who actually watched the draft and know football

Oh great it looks like they are making Calvin wear the eighty-skinny-seven jersey again this season.

We own the bear cubs. Cutler hates playing us.

hyzers and mazenblue why do you say the exact same thing over and over again? You guys brag about sweeping the Bears last season and you finished behind them in the division, makes no sense….anyways….

The Bears vs. Lions over all record

    Bears lead: 96–67–5

On a reality/non-trolling note I am anxious for this season to start and see the Lions have a new system, now that Swartz is out of there. The Bears starters looked about as I anticipated, I hope the Lions meet your expectations as well. It’s going to be a fun season in the NFC North.

It will be interesting to see if the new regime has been able to install any discipline into one of the league’s most undisciplined teams the past few years.

If they have, the Lions could make a run.

    It’s pronounced Ebron-atron.
