Johnson, Ebron still could play on Saturday night

Lions

Megatron and Ebraton (I tried) may still suit up and play during the Saturday night debut of Johnny Manziel.

Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, receiver Calvin Johnson and tight end Eric Ebron returned to practice on Friday. It’s unclear whether either or both will play against the Browns.

Ebron missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to injury. Johnson didn’t practice on Thursday for personal reasons. Both took part in Friday’s walk-through session.

“There’s maybe a couple guys here or there [that don’t play], but we had to get through [Friday’s] practice and we’ll sit down with the coaches after this and go through every guy, every situation,” coach Jim Caldwell said.

Ebron, the 10th overall pick in the draft, adds a dynamic weapon to a Lions offense that will be coordinated by Joe Lombardi, a former Saints assistant who knows a thing or two about having a great tight end on the field.
