Packers won’t have big three on offense against Titans

Rodgers AP

Preseason football isn’t real football, especially when the real players aren’t available to play.

Joining a trend that sees plenty of star players skipping exhibition contests that they’d surely play if the outcome counted in the standings, the Packers have scratched their three biggest names on offense — quarterback Aaron Rodgers, running back Eddie Lacy, and receiver Jordy Nelson.  All are healthy.

They’ll be replaced in the starting lineup by Matt Flynn, James Starks, and Jarrett Boykin, respectively.

On defense, safety Morgan Burnett didn’t make the trip to Nashville, which means that we’ll see plenty of converted cornerback Micah Hyde and first-rounder Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

These games are for evaluation, for seeing who is gonna make the team. I think the above three are sure locks.

I’m sure Rodgers and Lacy are out with injuries already. Nelson too, he probably pulled an ab muscle laughing so hard about fleecing the packers.

“Packers” vs Titans tonight. Another preseason farce at regular season prices.

Deathly afraid of injuries. Don’t blame them, they are triage unit with shoulder pads.

Softest team in the league. #THONGBALL

  8. stevent92 says: Aug 9, 2014 8:13 PM

Two of those three (Rodgers excluded) wouldn’t make most teams’ “Big Twelve” list

We don’t want other teams picking up our playbook before a season in which he win our 14th Championship!

Hey Viking trolls, you guys sad because these guys play for a division rival and your only hope of beating us is for these guys not to suit up?

Nelson fleeced the Packers with his new contract? You must be a ‘real student’ of the game. Meanwhile, most fans[ie: here on planet earth] felt that Nelson was the best value in the NFL in terms of production vs salary since 2010. Good call though- I hope you are in personnel.

How the hell is that a big three? God that term is overused.

  15. veence69 says: Aug 9, 2014 9:27 PM

Packer fans are already overly sensitive and we haven’t even completed the first week of preseason games..

They are afraid to admit to themselves what the rest of us have already figured out: It’s Aaron Rodgers and that’s it. The defense is putrid, the O-line is either on their backs watching #12 scramble for his life or they are on the trainer’s table, the WR’s are products of the QB, the coach is overrated and the GM drafts the softest athletes he can find while other teams are drafting football players.

veence69- It must suck to watch, what you think is a one man team, dismantle your group of losers twice a year.

Full price ticket to watch a practice game. Robbing us blind .

My prediction is that nobody from either team gets shot tonight in Nashville.

A little refresher out there for you NFC North fans:

    Detroit 4
Tampa Bay 1 (no longer in division)

Great…Tell us the day AFTER the game…geeez

  23. bloozmann says: Aug 10, 2014 3:19 PM

I love how southpaw limits his stats to the last 20 years..of course that benefits GB……Cheeseheads, go figger!

  24. rho1953 says: Aug 10, 2014 8:26 PM

They know what they have. They are only figuring out the last roster spots now and avoiding injury the best they can. Vikings fans make a big deal out of the preseason, it is pretty much their playoffs, their only chance to win the division.

  25. titansbro says: Aug 11, 2014 9:05 AM

And our defense still looked suspect. Get it together Horton!
