DeAngelo Hall carted off with back injury

Hall AP

Washington got a scare on Sunday, when cornerback DeAngelo Hall landed on his back during practice.

As explained by Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWahshington.com, Hall was carted off the practice field.

A team spokesman said the injury may be only a bruise.  But Hall was still being evaluated at the time El-Bashir’s story posted, and an update is expected from coach Jay Gruden later today.

Hall, a key player on the team’s defense, enters his seventh season in Washington and 11th in the league.  He’s still only 30.

Even though the Skins have improved their secondary since last year, anything to slow up Hall or keep him off the field is going to hurt. Here’s hoping he rubs some dirt on it and shakes it off.

Never want to see injuries in the pre or reg season. Hope it’s not too serious, Hall. Get well soon.

I expected a lot more hate on this topic simply because every time there is a Redskins post there is always a tremendous amount of hate……See the topics about D Jax being injured or the Pierre Garcon injury.Hate after hate……Its going to be deeply hard for those haters if those Redskins are successful!!!!

They gave up how much for RGIII? Reminds me a lot of a more skinnier and shorter Aaron Brooks.

  10. richndc says: Aug 10, 2014 3:15 PM

He always struck me as a jerk on the field. I have done a few events with him, the guy is pure class. Wish him the best.

  11. andreboy1 says: Aug 10, 2014 3:29 PM

Don’t worry RGIII is the greatest leader RGIII has ever been around.

Sucks to see any player get hurt. In this case, this injury makes the redskins better.

He’s -still- only thirty? How long has he been thirty? Has it been over a year?

  14. platinumraider32 says: Aug 10, 2014 3:41 PM

He’s been in the league for 11 years and is 30. So he came into the NFL at 19???

    Just curious……….

RGKnee=23 turnovers in less than 2 years. Yep he was worth all those picks. Is he still doing those lame Subway commercials?

Riiiiiight. He was fine until the team doctor dug his heel into his back and said “Does that hurt”? httwfc

Definition of troll: article written about D. Hall injury and you remark about RGIII being a bust.

  19. garyridgway says: Aug 10, 2014 4:07 PM

I always liked D. Hall. I remember when he broke out with the Falcons during the Jim Mora Jr. days. He’s a quality #2 corner and that can be a nice career.

  20. skinsfan91 says: Aug 10, 2014 4:07 PM

Just a back bruise. Coach doesn’t expect him to be out too long. People are scared, that’s why they comment with negativity.

  21. nomoreseasontix says: Aug 10, 2014 4:13 PM

I’d think patting yourself on the back would cause an arm injury.
He must have been really proud of himself to get after it that hard.

Vintage Al Davis! Good ol DeAngelo. I remember when Denver rookie, Eddie Royal, beat him like a drum on Mondaynight Football. Sorry, never impressed with this guy. Lucky to have a job in my opinion.

  27. jetsmmt says: Aug 10, 2014 4:48 PM

I’m pretty sure he’s like 44 years old.

  28. politicallyincorrect says: Aug 10, 2014 6:04 PM

have gained much respect for Hall the past few years; had pro bowl level season last year (laughs at DBryant) and went out of his way to help Redskins with both his contracts and recruiting others

    get well DHall.. true Redskin

  29. skinsfan91 says: Aug 10, 2014 6:11 PM

Since DeAngelo Hall signed with the Redskins he’s had the third most interceptions in the league.

  30. leevi98 says: Aug 10, 2014 6:45 PM

So where is the update that it turned out to he minor and just a bruise? Oh wait that would not be a negative article on the Skins…

  31. ravensdominate says: Aug 10, 2014 6:54 PM

Look the Landover Redtails just lost their best Corner!

  32. leevi98 says: Aug 10, 2014 6:59 PM

  34. tigershark0052 says: Aug 10, 2014 7:54 PM

  35. ncarolinabluze says: Aug 10, 2014 9:18 PM

This guy will always be “The Cornerback who Steve Smith Torched Repeatedly”. In 2007 dude had 3 penalties in a single drive and got benched

  36. defscottyb says: Aug 10, 2014 9:30 PM

D Hall: Date of birth: November 19, 1983 (age 30) Drafted in 2004 at 19 or 20 years old. Came out of college after his Junior year at VT. So, he probably was 17/18 as a freshman in college. The math makes sense so why are people tripping about his age? He’s a very solid player no matter what the haters say. Think he’s 3rd in the NFL in INT’s and passes defended since he joined the Skins. Anyone who saw every Skins snap last year like me knows he balled out. Lol to the haters.

  37. blackqbwhiterb says: Aug 10, 2014 9:51 PM

Never liked the big mouth but he’s played well, it’s hard to argue….. He’s good with big physical guys like Dez Bryant, but not fast enough for the speedsters like D Jackson….. So they sign Jackson- improve the wr corps AND remove Philly’s best weapon! Hail

  38. gianthater says: Aug 10, 2014 11:26 PM

Hopefully Hall will be ready for giant game, n manning should be ready for his usual two or three picks.

  39. themagicalrighttestical says: Aug 11, 2014 12:31 AM

I had to check Wikipedia myself but he is in fact only 30

  40. u4iadman says: Aug 11, 2014 1:04 AM

Total bum for what he stole from raiders. Proved his character right there.

  41. pittsburghdamned says: Aug 11, 2014 1:13 AM

The first documented case of someone talking so much trash that his back went out.

  42. vietnambob2473 says: Aug 11, 2014 1:53 AM

That comment is kinda funny, seeing as he was once dubbed the “fastest man in the NFL”

  43. jammer88 says: Aug 11, 2014 5:41 AM

The last I heard this team was called the Washington Redskins but I haven’t read PFT articles lately that address this team by their NFL name. PFT continues to call this team “Washington” Why is that?
