Sam Bradford will play in Rams’ second preseason game

The Rams took the field for their preseason opener without many of the team’s projected starters, something that won’t be the case when they face the Packers on Saturday.

Among the debuting starters will be quarterback Sam Bradford. Coach Jeff Fisher said that Bradford will take the field for the first time since tearing his ACL last October.

“He’s going to play,” Fisher said, via the Belleville News-Democrat. “I haven’t decided how much, but he’s going to play this week.”

Fisher offered fewer specifics about some of the other missing players, like left tackle Jake Long and center Scott Wells, but did say he expected to have 15 or 16 of the 18 players who didn’t suit up against the Saints back in the lineup for the Green Bay game. No matter which other players are active, Bradford’s play will be heavily scrutinized as he enters his fifth NFL season with the jury still out on how well he fits the bill as a franchise quarterback in the NFL.

The team around him is pretty talented. Especially the defense.

But even when he’s healthy he is inconsistent.

if they can keep him up right and not knocked down he is deadly but that’s a big if

The Rams have a talented, but oft-injured, offensive line in front of Bradford for perhaps the first time in his short career. A lot of Bradford’s success this year will depend on wehther Long, Wells and Saffold can stay healthy.

To have been the #1 pick this guy has been getting a pass for far too long.

For comparison with the Rams former number ONE pick, the Cards drafted in the 4th round a very inconsistent QB and he went 11 for 12 with a TD and FGs against the twos and threes with the Cards’ twos and threes.

Anyone think Bradford could do that?

We might as well look forward to the Shaun Hill Show.

At least he takes chances and can put up numbers.

Bradford has had a “pass” because he’s been tucked away in a cave called St. Louis. If he was in a big market town he would have been gone.

He reminds me of a watered down Alex smith. I wouldn’t give up on him just yet. The roster has improved a lot and he went down last season. If he starts the full season and they can’t get over he hump, maybe it’s time to move on.

After 4 years does anyone really know if this guy is any good?
