Yes, free-agent quarterback Rex Grossman had a workout with the Dolphins on Monday, reportedly along with Brady Quinn and John Skelton. A league source tells PFT that Grossman won’t be signing with the Dolphins.

But that’s not the end of the line for Grossman. He’s got another workout lined up with team whose identity is not yet known.

It’s a surprise that the Browns didn’t sign Grossman already, since he knows the Kyle Shanahan offense inside and out and can teach it to guys who don’t know it.

A first-round pick of the Bears in 2003, Grossman helped Chicago get to Super Bowl XLI in 2006, the only season of his career in which Grossman started every game. He spent a year in Houston and started 13 games for Washington in 2011.

He also hasn’t played in a regular-season game since 2011.

The Dolphins also won’t be signing Tim Tebow, who took the Broncos to the playoffs in 2011. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, who reports that Skelton also won’t be signed, made the case for Tebow at least getting a workout on Monday’s PFT Live.
