The Steelers have waived tailback Jawan Jamison, according to the NFL’s Monday transactions.
The 22-year-old Jamison signed with Pittsburgh on August 1. He played three offensive snaps in the Steelers’ preseason opener vs. the Giants on Saturday night and did not see any action on special teams, according the league’s game statistics.
Jamison (5-7, 203) was a seventh-round pick of Washington in 2013 and spent the last three weeks of the regular season on the club’s roster. He played collegiately at Rutgers.
Jamison’s departure leaves the Steelers with six tailbacks. Pittsburgh has one open roster spot.
