The Saints are adding yet another veteran tight end for depth.

According to The New Orleans Advocate, the Saints have struck a one-year deal with Travis Beckum, who was with the Seahawks earlier in the offseason.

The 27-year-old Beckum last played in an NFL regular season game in 2012 with the Giants. In 48 career games, he has hauled in 26 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns.

Beckum’s signing comes two days after the club placed reserve tight end Richard Quinn on the reserve/retired list. The Saints signed Quinn last week.

He’s got no chance of making the Saints roster, we’ve already got 3 good TE’s and a fullback who can double as TE.

What’s the over/under on number of comments before Vikings fans start whining about the playoff game?

I was hoping this guy could stay healthy when he came out of Wisconsin, and that was 5 years ago. Kid can play, but he’s never been healthy.

dude could play in college because he was athletic. In the NFL he doesn’t have WR speed and he doesn’t have TE size. Plus he is injury prone. Good luck to him, but it may be time to give it up. I mean it’s been 5 years. Time to go back to Wisconsin and finish that degree that your like 2 classes short on.
