Titans linebacker headed for season-ending surgery

When he’s been well, Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy has been a solid presence on defense.

His problem has been he hasn’t been well enough, and it will be another year before he gets another chance.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean, McCarthy appears headed for season-ending shoulder surgery.

He’s still going to get a second opinion next week, but it appears the injury suffered last week against the Packers is a serious one.

McCarthy was making a transition from the 4-3 to a 3-4 defense anyway, so it was going to be an uphill climb for the former team captain.

Now the climb’s at least a year longer.

Sure looking like the Colts will walk through this sorry division again this year.

This is a major blow to McCarthy for sure. He came on strong as a rookie … something like a poor man’s Luke Kuechly. However, since then, he’s had injuries and inconsistent play relegate him further down the depth chart … and now this.

Can we get a LB not made of glass for once? Every. Single. Year.
