Allen Robinson still not ready to return from hamstring injury

When Jaguars rookie wide receiver Allen Robinson injured his hamstring at the start of training camp, word was that he would miss at least two weeks while he recovered.

It has been two weeks and the wait continues in Jacksonville. Robinson isn’t in the lineup against the Bears on Thursday night and Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports that it may be a “few more weeks” before Robinson is ready to go. For his part, Robinson believes things are progressing.

“Getting better each and every day so things are coming along,” Robinson said. “I’ve been down this road before so I have to trust the process.”

If that’s the case, Robinson would miss the entire preseason while his hamstring, which also kept him out for some spring work, recovers. That’s not a good route to playing time for a rookie, even when said rookie is a second-round pick on a team in need of receiving talent this season.

It’s ok. He’s a rookie WR that’ll make the 53. He can read & get that hammy healthy and be ready to know where he’s supposed to go.
