The Dolphins are apparently still committed to kicker Caleb Sturgis, after drafting him in the fifth round last year.
But they made a change behind him on the depth chart today, signing kicker John Potter to replace Danny Hrapmann the day after Hrapmann missed two field goals in practice.
Sturgis has been sidelined with a groin injury lately but returned to practice recently. He was 26-of-34 on field goals last year, so it’s not as if he’s untouchable.
Potter entered the league with the Bills in 2012, a seventh-round pick. He’s also spent time with Washington and Detroit.
