Jets rookie receiver Jalen Saunders had what police are describing as a “medical incident” while driving to the team facility on Friday morning, resulting in his hospitalization.
The Jets initially announced that Saunders was in a single-car accident, but police told NJ.com that Saunders didn’t actually crash his car during the incident inside his vehicle. No other details have been released.
The good news is that Saunders is believed to be OK and is only being monitored at the hospital as a precaution.
Saunders was drafted out of Oklahoma in the fourth round this year, and the Jets were hoping he would be able to contribute as a rookie both on offense and as a punt and kickoff returner. It is unclear when Saunders will be able to get back on the field with the Jets.
