Justin Hunter looks like more than “just another guy” for the Titans

The Titans took Justin Hunter’s name off his practice jersey and replaced it with JAG for “Just Another Guy” this week as punishment for screwing up his route running. Hunter looked like more than just another guy on Friday night.

Hunter had a sensational preseason game against the Saints, catching four passes for 111 yards, including a four-yard touchdown from Jake Locker in the first quarter and a 64-yard touchdown from Zach Mettenberger in the second quarter.

The offense was clicking, and we were moving the ball real well in the first half,” Hunter said. “Jake was on point and was making all the throws. I thought we came out of the locker room and started fast.”

The Titans’ offense wasn’t clicking as much when the ball wasn’t going to Hunter: Five Tennessee drives ended in turnovers, and two drives ended in punts. But Hunter looked like the best player on the field for the Titans’ starting offense.

As a rookie last season, Hunter played sparingly and only caught 18 passes, but he showed off his big-play ability, scoring four touchdowns and averaging 19.7 yards a catch. This season the Titans expect Hunter to be a major part of their offense, and to be more than just another guy.
