Ray Rice shoulder injury is nothing serious

rayrice AP

Ravens running back Ray Rice suffered a shoulder injury and left Saturday night’s preseason game early, but the injury was minor.

The Ravens confirmed after the game that X-rays on Rice’s shoulder were negative.

It shouldn’t be anything too serious,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said of Rice’s injury.

Also injured was Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith, but Harbaugh said, “He should be fine, too.”

The Ravens didn’t have Rice in their starting offense, as Bernard Pierce got the start instead. Rice, who is suspended for the first two games of the season, carried twice for 21 yards before exiting. Pierce had 55 yards on seven carries and backup Lorenzo Taliaferro had 59 yards on 16 carries.

Looks like his wife will only have to dodge punches from one fist for awhile.

That’s too bad. Personally I’m rooting for injuries to do what Goodel wouldn’t and sideline this giant tool for a while.

Neither was his wife’s concussion if you according to the NFL.

His injury is just as serious as his suspension

Taliaferro will be the starting RB by the end of the year. He looks great behind a bad second-third string line. He runs tough and runs over people. He will definitely get the goal line carries.

Ray Rice is basically washed up…He totally sucked last season & probably had something to do with him beating his wife as that seems to be what so-called “ALPHA MALES” do to reassure themselves they can at least hurt somebody. LOSER!

Bernard Pierce, NOT Taliaferro, will replace Ray Rice as the lead back this season…Ray Rice is done he has too much mileage on his little legs & he is always playing with some type of Boo-Boo.

QUICK RANT: There is something seriously WRONG with the NFL punishing players worse for smoking Cannabis than they punish players for beating their wives & girlfriends…Oh yeah, & sexual assault. There is no reason at all why players need to be drug tested for cannabis, NONE!

“no reason at all why the nfl should be testing for cannabis”

except that it’s illegal. whether it should be or not Is another issue. and even if it is legal the league has a right to say it’s employees can’t use it. alcohol is legal but you can’t play drunk.

Can only hope the injury end his career.

Unless this injury affects his checkdown catching abilities, he won’t miss a beat. Not to mention when he does run it, falling down w/in 3.1 yds of the line of scrimmage will minimize the hits he’ll take on the shoulder.

“alcohol is legal but you can’t play drunk.”

True, but you can get drunk the night before, no prob. Apparently, not so with weed. Gordon’s reprimand isn’t from smoking game day. Good to see you bro.
