The wheels on the Patriots’ tight end depth chart go ’round and ’round.

The Patriots have re-signed rookie tight end Justin Jones, whom they waived eight days ago, the club said Monday.

Jones (6-8, 277) played 32 snaps on offense in the Patriots’ preseason opening loss to Washington on August 7. He was targeted once in the passing game.

Jones’ addition gives the Patriots five tight ends, with Rob Gronkowski, Michael Hoomanawanui, D.J. Williams and Steve Maneri the others.

To make room for Jones, the Pats waived rookie long-snapper Tyler Ott.

You’ll be laughing out the other side of your face when Belichick rolls out his revolutionary 7 TE set.

Keller and Finley must be in pretty bad shape for the Patriots to head into the season with the oft injured Gronkowski as the only viable option.

Except we can sign this guy for $500K. Finley can get $10 mil, tax free if he retires so there’s no way he signs for less that $3M to $4M. Dustin Keller is going to be just as expensive and talk about “oft injured”.

He’s not currently awaiting trial on two separate murder investigations so that’s good.

This is the one real weak spot on the Pats roster. I was very surprised when they didn’t draft a TE this time around.

Rotating TEs, a new offense wrinkle to confuse the opponents (Who the h— is that guy out there this series?).

    Is he 6-8 and 277 or 6-3 247?
