Former NFL running back is in a pile of trouble now

Armond Smith AP

Armond Smith wasn’t able to rake up enough yards to keep an NFL job, and the latest news about him is going to leaf a lot of people disappointed.

According to Aimee Jones of the Rockdale (Ga.) Citizen, the former Panthers and Browns running back was arrested for stealing a leaf-blower out of the back of a landscaper’s truck parked outside the county courthouse.

Smith was charged with theft by taking (no word on whether he sped away by going fast) after a witness said he saw Smith place a $500 Stihl leaf blower in the back of his own truck.

The witness said Smith’s license plate was obscured by a T-shirt, but courthouse surveillance footage showed him, since he was at the courthouse regarding a domestic violence matter earlier in the day.

So it sounds like his issues may be really piling up.

I guess if he ever tries to come back into the NFL, he might hear teams tell him to make like a tree…and get outta here.

I am a landscaper! Tool theft is a huge problem not as huge as the h2b workers (legal illegals) employed by the huge companies but a huge problem. Already in trouble with the law then steals from a landscape crew. Stealing from guys that really work hard for their money! Just lock him up already he does not need to be on the street he is too dumb!

Theft by taking means someone literally stole something themselves. There’s also theft by deception where you can say, tell someone that you’re here to service the leaf blower, and then they give it to you.

I’m guessing he gets community service instead of jail. Hopefully forced to rake every lawn in the town while making the sound of a leaf blower.

Why would this guy want to Stihl a hardworking guy’s leaf blower?

Waiting for the Vikes guy to tell us how landscapers in Mineh-sooo-tah are so much better.

Waiting for the Hawks guy to tell us about Bill Leavey’s leaf blower.

Repeat offenders of crimes don’t need to sit in jail until they figure it out. Clearly there is a learning disability present. Make them attend SCHOOL! No time limit on the sentence just make them complete their high school education in jail then they can leave. Educated people commit less crimes – true stat. If tax payers have to foot the bill we should at least see some progress.

Leaf it to football players to act like children

If he’s like me and works from home, he’s realized those damn leaf blowers with their audio and atmospheric pollution are the bain of modern day neighborhoods. They blow toxins from yard to yard while terrorizing the ‘hood with their shrill engine noise.

Perhaps he was tired of them and took matters into his own hands.
