After scary moment, Jeremy Maclin returns to game

Jeremy Maclin AP

In what looks to be a good turn of luck for a player who’s coming back from a right knee injury that sidelined him last season, Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin stayed in Thursday’s exhibition vs. Pittsburgh after momentarily looking to have injured the leg again.

With about 10 minutes left in the second quarter, Maclin went down trying to make a sharp cut, and he grabbed his knee as he lay on the ground. However, Maclin reportedly was able to get up and walk off the field, and he was then seen walking on the sideline.

Then — happily — Maclin was back on the field on the Eagles’ next series. And he even started the drive with a nine-yard catch. In the end, it appeared to be just a brief scare for Maclin, one of the club’s key passing game players.

I was nervous until I was him coming onto the feild for the next possession. OLine n D are looking good.

  8. The Steelers are Marching and the world cowers. The three rivers were made from your tears, and we build boats. We build lots of boats. We walk beside pristine trophy cases and engraved gold. They say it's lonely at the top, but we sure like the view says: Aug 21, 2014 10:01 PM

The Steelers might win 18 games this year.

That offense is firing and the first team defense looks better.

he is a really good player, but I feel like he is an injury waiting to happen. he has constant “scares” and this is after missing last season.

I don’t think he is healthy for 16 games. I still wonder why chip Kelly only drafted one of his Oregon standouts. DAT would have been an excellent pick to tag team with sproles on returns.

Is there anyone out there that really expects him to make it through a whole season? I mean besides the Eagles front office?

Maclin looked good tonight, Cooper did too, especially if he would have caught those two drops in the end zone.

Thought there was no way Maclin was surviving what looked to be a terrible injury. Glad to see he’ll be OK.

Love Maclin, but I find myself holding my breath when he’s out there like I used to with Vick.

They stunk up the joint obviously :).

Glad he’s alright. Guys a game changer. When I saw his knee lock up it turned my stomach. Not because it looked bad but because he worked so hard to come back from last year and it would have been sad to see him go through all that again for a meaningless preseason game

Geez…as an Eagles fan, I love Maclin. He’s a true fighter. But this guy has more injury scares and missed halves than anyone, he’s giving my heart a workout being our #1, but I honestly hope he fulfills his potential.

It looks like Big Ben will be throwing a lot this year… The Steelers’ defense did not look good tonight.
