Jets corner Dimitri Patterson goes AWOL, no one knows why

Dimitri Patterson, Thad Lewis AP

Disappearing cornerbacks are something of a trend with the Jets in recent years, but this is a new turn even for them.

According to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com, Jets cornerback Dimitri Patterson did not show up for Friday’s preseason game, and hasn’t communicated with the team since then.

General manager John Idzik told reporters Patterson has not communicated with the team since then.

I’d like to speak to Dimitri,” Idzik said.

Idzik said he had talked to Patterson’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who assured him that Patterson was physically fine, and that it was not a legal matter.

Otherwise, no one knows why he’s not showing up for work.

When Idzik took over the Jets, he had Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie at cornerback. Now, he can’t even find the lesser ones he has on the roster.

Patterson was the Jets’ top cornerback at the moment, with Dee Milliner sidelined with a high ankle sprain. But until they know where he is or why he’s not with them, they can’t count on anything.

Probably got bullied by his teammates.

He’s scared having to cover Wallace, Watkins, and Welker on an Island

Love the job the Wizard of Id is doing getting rid of the rif raf. Revis = overpriced, Cro = over penalized, Dimi = often toasted.
Simms to Rams trade needs to happen.

He went AWOL for the Browns on the field too when it came to covering WRs

Cue the Jets fans saying “our front 7 is so good we don’t need a secondary”

  10. scmems07 says: Aug 24, 2014 4:05 PM

And this is why the jets are and always will be the circus.

  11. mackcarrington says: Aug 24, 2014 4:06 PM

Perhaps he did a Stanley Wilson or a Barrett Robbins. Went on a weekend bender from which he couldn’t recover from in time to show up and play.

Could this happen to any team but the Jests? Last season they had a RB drunk & stoned in the middle of a highway in New Jersey passed out. Now they have players that disappear and don’t show up for games.

If I played for the Jets, I would disappear too much like the Jets do every December for the past 46 years.

He also had a salary cap problem that devoted 22 million dollars for 2 players and the rest of the team suffered for it, but don’t let reality get in the way of your jokes or any chance to act like the Jets are a mess.

I heard he was trying to get back to Miami to be a Dolphin again and play for a Team that has a chance of winning. Take it from us, you won’t miss him. He was not that good to begin with. So now the Jets have a running game, but mediocre QB play, Decker is no savior either. Jets finally have a stout front on Def, but only a Rookie Pryor that can play in the Secondary. I actually would be scared of this Team if they could get it all together for a Season, but NO… They are the Jets. This is what keeps Bandwagon Patriots Fans jumping on everyday. I purposely did not mention the Bills, so as not to hurt their Sale price… It seems to be going down over time? LOL

Dude’s like, I’m not about to be the fall guy when that brutal stretch of QBs we face flame us up because our idiot GM didn’t get us any corners in the off-season.

This comes 100% from a lack of leadership from the coach,,no dispute. I mean let me ask you this: Could you look your boss in the eye, respect him, and follow him when you know he advertises his wife on the web? When he shows 0% respect for any other team, runs his mouth constantly, and generally instills the theme of a circus in the locker room? It starts and ends with the big mouth coach

After this season there will be three new HC’s in the AFCE and the Patriots will have clinched the division by Halloween.

Let’s not let the reality of the situation hit us in the face. Like the vast majority of you, he is probably suffering from some sort of mental disorder, but that’s ok let’s use this as an opportunity to bash an organization. You know, the organization that doesn’t lose the big game or cheat to get there. So sad how messed up this world has become and the trash that defaces it continues to mount. Good day losers!!!!

Drew Rosenhaus is such a dirt bag. Don’t get why athletes still hire him. There have to be better choices out there.

Really? Nobody on this blog knows what happened to Patterson. Oh I see, He’s on the Jets roster so cue the circus music and nobody wants to play for them and blah blah blah. Aaron Hernandez killed three people my friend. Why don’t you wait until the facts are present before jumping to conclusions.
