Dolphins sign two, waive three

The Dolphins began the process of reducing their roster to the 75-player limit on Monday, waiving three players and signing two, the club said.

Joining the Dolphins are defensive tackle Cory Grissom and kicker Jake Rogers. Grissom, 24, has previously played for the Chiefs (2014) and Patriots (2013-14). He played collegiately at South Florida. Rogers, 27, will compete with Caleb Sturgis, who has a groin injury. A Cincinnati product, Rogers has had previous stints with six other NFL clubs.

With Rogers arriving, the Dolphins parted ways with kicker John Potter, who was waived/injured with a hip injury suffered in Saturday’s preseason game vs. the Cowboys. The Dolphins also waived safety Demetrius Wright and offensive tackle Steven Baker.

The moves leave the Dolphins with 86 players on the active roster. Miami must get to the 75-player limit by Tuesday afternoon.
