Haloti Ngata says kicking opponent was “heat of the moment”

Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata wasn’t flagged for kicking an opponent, but he could still be facing a fine for a clearly aggressive move.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, Ngata said he was just frustrated that Washington guard Shawn Lauvao had hit cornerback Dominique Franks late on a running play.

“When I saw Lauvao do that, I kind of was just pissed that he was doing that and just nudged him,” Ngata said. “Kind of a heat-of-the-moment thing. That was the only thing. I was just trying to protect my player.”

“No disrespect to Shawn because we know each other.┬áIt was the heat of the moment, and just was mad that he tried a late hit.”

He’ll be even more upset when he has to make a donation to the league’s charitable causes.

The going rate for a DT kick is a 2 game suspension.

Well at least it was a Raven kicking a guy this time.

Even when this guy broke Bens nose (Never flagged that time either) I had to respect him. He is a warrior that realizes sometimes it takes more to get the job done.

He only kicked a R*dsk*n player. No big deal. Over half of the league, if having a chance, would kick them also, being that the R*dsk*ns are the dirtiest team in the league (see Meriweather).

Good thing his name’s not Suh or he would be called, THE-DIRTIEST-PLAYER-ALIIIIIIVVVVEEE!!!

Another dirt ball on a team full of dirt balls!

  13. ravens4fr says: Aug 25, 2014 9:05 AM

Well, had he not been blocked out of the play, maybe he would’ve made the tackle – instead he will receive a well-deserved fine! Come on, Ngata, the season is just around the corner, so start playing ball!

It was the heat of the moment, telling me what your heart meant. Heat of the moment shone in your eyes.

It’s not as bad as grabbing another players junk like that bum steeler o-lineman did last season.

The Redskins were playing dirty that whole game.

  18. Bull Rush says: Aug 25, 2014 9:52 AM

Ngata is respected and a overall good guy. A master of the bull rush. If you claim Ngata is low class you know nada.

  19. ravensterps says: Aug 25, 2014 9:55 AM

That really was’t a kick. If you take the time to watch the video you’re reporting on, it really was a nudge as Haloti said.

  22. crownofthehelmet says: Aug 25, 2014 10:50 AM

I didn’t see it – was it a stomp, a front kick, or more like a roundhouse?

  23. ne1551 says: Aug 25, 2014 11:04 AM

Just another example of the Ravens being a team full of dirty players, wife beaters, PED users and convicts. A class organization!

  24. The Native Americans are not r*dsk*ns. They are human beings like you and me. FTTR! - Fail To The Racists! says: Aug 25, 2014 4:19 PM

The R*dsk*ns are offensive in more ways than one.

  25. jacktheraven says: Aug 25, 2014 4:50 PM

It was only a nudge. The Redskin player, when asked, didn’t know anything about it.
