Many were worried about the near-fatal heart injury when the Raiders drafted cornerback D.J. Hayden in the first round last year.
But it’s another problem that’s going to cost him the start of this year.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Raiders are going to put Hayden on the physically unable to perform list because of a foot injury that has kept him out of camp.
The Raiders were hoping to get him well before the end of the preseason, but obviously his recovery from surgery to repair a stress fracture is sufficiently slow that they’re going to sit him the first six weeks of the regular season.
