How will the Browns do without Josh Gordon?

They could have traded him last year, for a second-round draft pick and more.  They could have drafted Sammy Watkins to replace him.

They did neither, and now the Browns will proceed without a clear-cut No. 1 receiver.

So how will the Browns do without Josh Gordon?  Answer the poll question below, and then tune in at 5:30 p.m. ET for the answer on NBCSN’s Pro Football Talk.

The question should be, “How will the Browns win without a decent Quarterback?”

The factory of sadness is perpetual.

You can count on the Brownies to win 4-6 games every season, with or without Gordon.

  5. doe22us says: Aug 27, 2014 3:34 PM

They are in trouble.. no one on that offense is scary. Tate maybe?? but he aint playing 16 games.

  6. milkmandanimal says: Aug 27, 2014 3:34 PM

They will do poorly enough to get a high draft pick in a very strong QB 2015 NFL draft, except they won’t be able to take one because of Manziel. They will therefore miss out on Hundley, Winston, Mariota, or some other impressive prospect and be stuck with JFF for a year or two more, before drafting yet another QB with the #22 slot of the 1st round. Who won’t work out.

The browns are now on the clock with the first pick in the nfl draft.

  8. tommikula says: Aug 27, 2014 3:44 PM

I am a Browns fan and I even think 0 wins should have been its own option.

With or without him, it can’t get much worse.

  10. seatownballers says: Aug 27, 2014 3:49 PM

    5-11

  11. casualmalexlfan says: Aug 27, 2014 3:50 PM

Knowing the Brown’s luck they will have the first and second pick in 2015 and both picks will be spent on things that fail to improve their offense.

  12. khar9 says: Aug 27, 2014 3:51 PM

Same as they would with him… 4-12

Doctor, your crush on Weeden has gone too far. Let it go brother.

    Go Browns!

  14. dietrich43 says: Aug 27, 2014 3:55 PM

No, the question is how many wins not having Gordon will cost them. And I think that answer is 0, they are a solid 4-12 team with or without him.

There are certain teams in the NFL that are destined to be the doormat and the Browns are one of those teams. It is just in the stars.

  16. jerze2387 says: Aug 27, 2014 4:02 PM

They have no viable QB option (if you have 2, you have none. Manziel doesnt have the head for it, Hoyer doesnt have the Arm)

Theyve got a formerly backup RB theyre relying on to stay healthy, which he hasnt been great at either.

At WR theyve got Miles Austin, Andrew Hawkins and Nate Burleson.

Even without Josh Gordon, reciever is probably their #3 biggest problem on Offense

Why is 10+ even an answer and what idiots accidentally clicked it?

  18. rajbais says: Aug 27, 2014 4:33 PM

They’re the Browns. They’re no good anyways.

  19. billswillnevermove says: Aug 27, 2014 4:43 PM

0-16 but they will get the Bills 28th pick in the first round.

  20. billswillnevermove says: Aug 27, 2014 4:44 PM

Without a doubt this team has the worst set of WR’s in the NFL, with the Jets being a close 2nd.

  21. culturecesspool says: Aug 27, 2014 4:46 PM

Gordon or not, the clowns will do nothing. it’s a supprise joe Thomas wants to stay around

  22. fallguy2006 says: Aug 27, 2014 4:46 PM

The only way the Browns get the first pick in the 2015 NFL Draft , will be with the pick they got from Buffalo.

  23. dudermcrbohan says: Aug 27, 2014 4:47 PM

    19-0

  24. billsfan1 says: Aug 27, 2014 4:50 PM

The browns are now on the clock with the first pick in the nfl draft…

dont forget they will have the #3 pick too

  25. dickshotdogs says: Aug 27, 2014 4:51 PM

Six and one half dozen of the other.

  26. dickshotdogs says: Aug 27, 2014 4:52 PM

“19-0.” Now that’s funny, I don’t care who you are.

  27. billsfan1 says: Aug 27, 2014 4:52 PM

How does Nate Burleson still have gainful employment… I’m being serious… Id even say that if he were on my team….

  28. coreydean says: Aug 27, 2014 4:53 PM

LOL, this is a pathetic poll. Such a profound and thought provoking question. Absolutely meaningless. Sounds like a question ESPN would ask.

If you could, please get back to your relentless posts about the Redskins name. As a torchbearer of keeping this casue du jour alive, you are shirking your duty.

  29. timmons94 says: Aug 27, 2014 5:49 PM

They stunk with him, they will stink without him. They always stink. 6 years 11 plus losses in each one. So much for parody

  30. coachbeck says: Aug 27, 2014 5:56 PM

Cincy’s 4th WR is now their top guy lol

    Silly Clowns lol

  31. ytownjoe says: Aug 27, 2014 9:28 PM

They have two first round picks in the 2015 draft but will not pick a QB because the owner made them pick Manziel.

The owner’s always been the problem with the Browns. It used to be Modell, now it’s Haslam.

  32. daveshingle says: Aug 27, 2014 11:48 PM

Next time Gordon wants a joint he should just punch a woman out cold. It’ll help take the edge off and then he will still get to play in a couple games.

  33. oldcracker says: Aug 28, 2014 2:17 AM

And to think THEY KNEW about Gordon’s problems BEFORE the draft!

    From the preseason thus far:

    Pettine can’t lead.
    Pettine can’t make a decision.
Pettine is in over his head.
Shanahan doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Browns still need an OT on the right side.

    Where’s this great “pro-bowl” defense?

Will Ray Farmer be allowed to bring in his own coaching staff?

Seriously, does anyone think we’ll beat anyone other than the Steelers?

  34. ohiostatefootballsucks2014 says: Aug 28, 2014 6:10 AM

2-14. Incompetent organization. They needed more GOOD WRs even if Gordon wasnt suspended. Farmer and Pettine are both idiots for not taking Sammy Watkins at 4, instead they draft a CB that cant tackle and cant cover anyone.

They arent cursed, they are stupid. Their drafting is clueless and makes zero sense.

  35. clbrwns says: Aug 28, 2014 3:02 PM

I’m a Browns fan and voted 4 – 6 games. To be honest, I saw them winning that many games with him so who cares? I guess better to lose him now and try to make something of life with him then to lose him in 3 – 5 years when hopefully we’re playing for something. I feel bad for Hoyer in this, not Josh.
