Kirkpatrick gets fined $22,500 for hit on Ted Ginn

One of the higher-profile hits from Week Three of the preseason didn’t draw a flag.  One of the lesser-known hits did.

On a first-quarter punt fielded by Cardinals receiver Ted Ginn, Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick lowered the boom.

The helmet-to-helmet hit drew no flag, but it has drawn a $22,050 fine.  NBC’s Cris Collinsworth spotted it in real time.

“So here we are in preseason having seen a ton of flags,” Al Michael replied, “and the one time we should have seen one, we don’t.”

Was pretty embarrassing for the refs.

After all of these record breaking “illegal use of hands” calls, they miss the one that matters. Player safety? Hahaha.

Let’s see now, lift arm around player, right hand on top of helmet, looking into players eyes and this is a fineable issue of $22,000. I don’t think so, appeal and get your money back.

Well, according to the pic Kirkpatrick was just trying to plant a lil kiss right on Ginn’s lips. No need to fine him for it.

NFL determines fine amounts the same as the episode of South Park where the government determines bailout money by chopping the head off of a chicken, throw it onto a gameboard, let it run around, and wherever it dies that’s the amount decided upon.

Love Kirkpatrick’s fire on that hit…….that’s a flag I wouldn’t mind seeing and the fine might of been worth it as that’s the type of play that will get him Burfict type playing time……..love it!

Fine Goodell $44 million. Let him work for free. He sucks at his job and should be banned for life
