Browns release Leon McFadden

The Browns are parting ways with their third-round pick from the 2013 NFL Draft.

The club will waive cornerback Leon McFadden, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Saturday. PFT has confirmed the Browns will release McFadden, a San Diego State product.

McFadden (5-10, 190) played in all 16 games for Cleveland in 2013, making 19 tackles. He made two starts.

The Browns have also waived offensive guard Garrett Gilkey, a 2013 seventh-round pick, the Plain Dealer reported.

Of the Browns’ five 2013 picks, only outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo (Round One) and defensive end Armonty Bryant (Round Seven) remain on the roster. However, three of the Browns’ five picks were final-day selections. The club also acquired a pair of 2014 draft picks during the ’13 draft.

Don’t agree with this move. I think the kid can play

When this guy wasn’t getting beat deep, he was committing pass interference – or both. Just not NFL caliber.

McFadden is a penalty waiting to happen. He never turns to see the ball while in coverage.

Yeah McFadden will latch on elsewhere.

Leon McFadden also known as Not Tyrann Mathieu because he was picked exactly one pick ahead of him. And people questioned why Banner and Lombardi were let go.

Don’t agree??? Did you see him getting SMOKED by 2nd and 3rd stringers in the last preseason game?!

I completely agree with this move. Clearly we should’ve drafted Honeybadger instead of this guy.

Thank God, Leon got burnt more than Kingsford charcoal. Good luck though, young man hopefully, you can latch on with another team and improve your pass coverage skills. Go Browns!
