Reports: Vincent Brown doesn’t make Chargers’ roster

Vincent Brown, Charles Woodson AP

Vincent Brown’s time with the Chargers could be at a close.

According to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the fourth-year wide receiver has not made the club’s 53-player roster.

Brown will be waived-injured, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday, according to NFL.com. Brown has been sidelined with a calf injury throughout the summer and did not appear in any exhibition games.

The 25-year-old Brown caught 41 passes for 472 yards and a touchdown in 16 games (12 starts) for San Diego in 2013. The Chargers selected him in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

What?!?! That’s too bad. I was hoping he’d get on but if you’re injured and other WR are stepping up, your seat has been taken. Good luck to you VB.

Like a Ford. He’s lost his speed.

Look for him to get signed by New Orleans and set a ton of records like Sproles and Brees.

Not a great receiver. Not surprised at all.

Chargers need to save roster spots for NT (injuries) and RT (lacking experience there)

The Broken ankle from 2012 really affected his speed last year. Too bad, he’s a good guy..

The Patriots drafted Mallett over Brown. Pats should pick him up if only so that the Mallett pick does not look so stupid.

In McCoy’s system when he says your greatest ability is your availability he actually means it, just ask VB

Damn shame. I always liked Brown and so did Rivers.

I’ve been hoping this kid would step up. Wish him the best.

In no way was the Mallet pick stupid. He’s been Brady’s backup for the last three years and probably will be again this year unless they get value for him. It’s not his fault Brady doesn’t get hurt easily

If he can get and stay healthy, whoever picks him up will get a good receiver. A huge if though.
