Alejandro Villanueva didn’t make the 53-man roster in Philadelphia, but he found a job with Pennsylvania’s other team.

Villanueva, who played at West Point and served as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan before returning to football, has been added to the Steelers practice squad. The Steelers list Villanueva as an offensive lineman, which he played in college before making the rare move from tackle to wide receiver, while the Eagles were trying the 6-foot-9 prospect as a defensive lineman.

The Steelers also brought cornerback Shaquille Richardson and tight end Rob Blanchflower back to the organization a day after cutting the 2014 draft picks. They also brought back linebacker Howard Jones, who had some good moments during the preseason.

Wide receiver C.J. Goodwin, wide receiver Derek Moye, defensive back Ross Ventrone, defensive lineman Josh Mauro, defensive lineman Nick Williams and running back Josh Harris round out the 10-man practice squad in Pittsburgh.
