Giants bring Michael Cox back to practice squad

AP

The arrival of Andre Williams in the 2014 draft helped squeeze 2013 seventh-round pick Michael Cox off of the Giants’ 53-man roster, but Cox won’t be far away should the Giants decide they want him back on Sundays this fall.

Cox was one of seven players added to the team’s practice squad. Cox played in 14 games last season, running 22 times for 43 yards while also averaging 21.8 yards on 20 kickoff returns.

Cox won’t be the only member of the practice squad with regular season experience. The Giants also signed tackle Nick Becton, who played one game with the Chargers and was waived by them over the weekend.

2014 sixth-round cornerback Bennett Jackson, linebacker Dan Fox, defensive end Jordan Stanton, cornerback Chandler Fenner and wide receiver Julian Talley all return after being part of the cut to 53 players.

  1. Practice squad? This guy should be the starting QB, and RB for the NJ giants, with the garbage they have in that sewer pot they call north jersey. In the end, it does not matter because they are running a OBSOLETE 2010 Philadelphia Eagles, Andy Reid west coast offense. LOL.

too bad they aren’t running the eagles “dream team” offense from 2011

  3. Just like Philly fans to hate on their old ball coach who was nothing but a class act and great coach at that, his obsolete whatever seems to be doing just fine in KC.. Oh yeah and its Mike McCarthy’ s west coast “flavored” offense…

Guess it sucks being but hurt with an empty dusty trophy case. Have fun with flash in the pan Kellys over use your offensive players offense, feel really bad for Shady and is impending injury. Shame.

  4. It must be tough on Eagles fans being surrounded by teams with Super Bowl titles….Washington, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and the Giants…heck even the Jets….You should be looking at your own team and trying to figure out what’s wrong than coming on here bashing good organizations….karma is a bitch!!
