Kevin Vickerson finds a home in Cincinnati

Kevin Vickerson AP

Kevin Vickerson appears to have found a home.

The veteran defensive tackle, who was cut by the Broncos Saturday, has apparently joined the Bengals, per a message he posted to his Instagram account.

The 31-year-old Vickerson lost his job with the Broncos to Marvin Austin, but he started 11 games for them last year.

Frankly, he was one of the most accomplished players released this weekend, which says as much about the waiver wire as it does Vickerson.

In Cincinnati, he’ll back up Geno Atkins and Domata Peko, adding depth to an already good defensive line.

UPDATE: 3:25 p.m. ET: You’ll notice that link doesn’t work anymore, which could mean Vickerson has deleted the photo of a big Bengals shirt with his thankful mention to a higher power. The Bengals haven’t announced anything, so maybe they won’t. Stay tuned.

To get him acclimated to practice, as soon as he stepped on the field Lewis had Dalton throw him one in the breadbasket. Dalton’s pass fell 3 yds short, but nonetheless…

Defense is definitely not the weakest link of the Bengals. They just need Andy Dalton to be serviceable and not lose games for them.

broncos are going to regret letting this guy go, though it looks like they were up against the cap and had no choice. marvin austin has impressed a lot of people with his physical ability before his attitude and work ethic left them sorely disappointed.

At least he won’t have to worry about being embarrassed in the Super Bowl again.

Happy but a bit nervous about who they will let go. Probably Cristo Bilukidi because they can likely slide him to the Practice Squad.

The Bengals are over the cap now. They cant afford him. Unless someone gets cut.

Putzberg wanted him, but @ 31 yrs. old, was waaaaaay to young for that franchise!

He doesn’t fit in, has a playoff win in his resume.

Maybe he can rape or beat a woman, then he will fit in with some of the other AFC North teams.
