Recent reports have indicated that the Giants are strongly considering placing guard Geoff Schwartz on injured reserve with the designation to return as a result of his dislocated toe.
If they did make such a move, they’d need to shore up their depth on the offensive line until Schwartz was ready to return to the lineup. Their plan to do that appears to include former 49ers guard Adam Snyder.
Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Giants are “working to sign” Snyder as a free agent. Snyder would bring a wealth of experience to the Giants after making 87 starts for the 49ers and Cardinals since entering the league in 2005.
That would be a significant boost to their depth and it would also give them an option in the event right guard Brandon Mosley’s back continues to be a problem or if rookie Weston Richburg can’t handle the job of replacing Schwartz.
