Seahawks cornerback Tharold Simon needs knee surgery

Tharold Simon, Gerell Robinson AP

The Seahawks are mostly healthy, but will be without a pair of contributors when they open the season tomorrow night against the Packers.

According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, cornerback Tharold Simon will miss some time with what Pete Carroll called “minor” knee surgery. Carroll said the procedure would be in the next few days.

Carroll didn’t specify a time frame for Simon’s recovery, but the Seahawks have an early bye after the third game, so that could be a reasonable guess.

The Seahawks will also be without running back Christine Michael, still sidelined with a hamstring problem. That will leave the running game to Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin, so they should be covered there.

Just like I don’t expect the Broncos’ offense to be as dominant, I don’t expect the Seahawks D to be either.

Both will still be great though.

Now I see why the Hawks picked up Burley from the Colts.

    Go Hawks!

Ah yes. Karma for Pete Carroll. Someone bought a used SUV for Reggie Bush’s family, so Pete Carroll is forever labelled a cheater who deserves what’s coming to him. . .

You realize how ridiculous you haters sound, right?

Finally! football is back. Great matchup to start the season, although I feel badly for GB having to open against the niners past two seasons and now Seattle in Week 1 this year.

Oh well, GB is used to starting 0-1 and still making the tourney.

“Karma catching up with pete carroll.”

Pete Carroll has done more to help others than you and everyone you know put together.

If Karma has anything to do with it, he should win the Super Bowl every year. Be careful what you wish for, troll.

Packers will blow Seattle out of the water, you think they forgot about 2012? Just remember when Arizona got walloped what was it 55-0 in Seattle in 2012 and then they returned the favor and won in Seattle the following season, who had them winning in Sea. last year no one. It’s a game of emotions, and while Seattle and their fans will have theirs, nothing beats the emotion a team has in a rematch where they felt cheated in the previous matchup.. Just saying.

I don’t care who wins…I just hope it’s a great game and no one gets seriously injured. That would be a great start to the season.

Gotta get those third stringers 100% healthy. The Hawks may need them later in the season.

Simon has had issues in both feet and now a knee since he has been drafted. He may not be able to take the pounding of the NFL. Hope I am wrong because he is really talented

    — Ya, because we all know the team that remembers the best will win…. dumb.

Karma started catching up to Carroll when he was fined for breaking NFL rules. Not to mention when the NFL took notice of the mugging/cheating going on in their secondary and implemented more strict calls in the secondary this season as a result.

Maybe if they hadn’t been so obsessed with 2012 they would have been able to beat the 49ers any of the last 3 times? LOL

So…I am sure those Packers fans who predicted the Packers would “blow (Seattle)…” will be eback any minute now to clarify their predictions.
