Bryan Bulaga leaves game, but Packers tie it up

Bulaga AP

The Seahawks hit the Packers by surprise twice in a row, and it may hurt the rest of the night.

After the Seahawks went ahead 10-7 on a 33-yard touchdown pass to Ricardo Lockette (of course), they knocked Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga out of the game, at least for the moment.

It appeared Bulaga was pushed back into tight end Richard Rodgers on the play, and fell awkwardly. That’s going to be a concern after he blew his left knee last year.

He walked to the locker room with trainers afterward, and his return was announced as questionable.

He was replaced by Derek Sherrod, but the Packers were still able to move the ball (thanks to a 44-yard pass interference when they got Randall Cobb matched up on linebacker Bobby Wagner). But the Packers were only able to get a field goal out of it, tying the game at 10

The Seahawks’ touchdown was a thing of beauty, a college-style read option, which left Lockette wide open for the score.

UPDATE 10:18 p.m. ET: Bulaga is done for the night, giving them something to watch in the coming days.

The Packers are so poorly coached. Rodgers and Matthews are their only hopes.

Are the Packers playing defense? Looks the they’ll be bottom feeding on that side of the ball once again this year. Try tackling. Sheesh.

Bulaga can’t ever stay in a game. The dude’s a china doll.

well lets see. gb scores because of a bonehead punt returner….gb kicks field goal because of 44 yard pass interference play and are still losing

Funny how Packers fans dream of Packass scoring every possession. It’s the opposite. I’ve never seen any body play scared like peewee Rodgers. Bottom of NFC North division son.

Green Bays defense is pathetic. They are missing tackles and biting on every play fake. It’s a shame Rodgers looks pretty good. They need a real D coordinator.

    Aaaand then it’s not tied.

  9. beastmode5150 says: Sep 4, 2014 10:07 PM

Doubled up in points and yards, scored due to fluke early season mental errors. If this was week 12, it’s 24-7 at half hawks.

ok cheeseheads how is lacey going to lead the league in rushing again?

HA HA looks like a deer in head lights! How many tackles has he missed tonight. Glad my team didn’t draft him.

Have to give props to Rodgers, he is the only reason Green Bay is relevant. An average qb and they are fight with Minnesota for last place.

Rodgers has no one to throw to, and Lacy is looking pretty slow.

Bulaga’s head was pushed hard enough into Rodgers’ to cause a concussion. So much for emphasis on illegal hands to the face.

  16. sterling8484 says: Sep 4, 2014 10:15 PM

Seattle will pull away in second half, they are clearly not the asskicking behemoth their fans think they are though.

Yes. Hanging with. They’re down 7. The Vikings would be losing by 40.

Game’s over. Well done Packers! Your offensive line is in tatters (as per usual) and your defense is soft (Brad Jones rules).

not a fan of either team, but the ‘Hawks looked very, very, good tonight.

  29. purplepunisher says: Sep 4, 2014 11:27 PM

Packers Defense is no different then the last few years soft and giving up 9 yards a run!

Offensive line, SOFT and let rushers run right through them.

Coaching soft, going for it at mid field only down by 10 and of course giving up another sack!

That crackling sound you hear is Rodgers collar bone being crushed very soon this season!

  30. filthymcfunny1 says: Sep 4, 2014 11:34 PM

They lost tonight but what about that 1962 team hahaha you got 10 days to think about it!

  31. banky74 says: Sep 4, 2014 11:38 PM

    Capers getting out-dueled by Bevel.

Serious personnel issues on that defense as well.

Packers offense will be able to hang with anyone this year, but you don’t win playoff games with that kind of talent (or lack thereof) on defense and at defensive coordinator and you sure as hell don’t win super bowls with a defense like that.

At least Lacy is on pace to lead the league in rush-

    er…wait.

That Bulaga injury looked more like a concussion than a knee injury. Heck his knee was hardly touched. Tough deal — that guy is either cursed or built with tissue paper.

  36. veence69 says: Sep 5, 2014 12:40 AM

I’m so thankful that the owner of the Packers saw fit to keep Dom Capers as their defensive coordinator..

Best owner in the league. For 31 other teams.

Packers looking like they will be fighting the Vikings for 3rd place in the NFCN this season. I hope Bulaga’s injury isn’t serious so that there’s no excuses when we wreck you guys in a couple of weeks. Toodles!

  39. mnfaninil says: Sep 5, 2014 7:02 AM

4th and 5 from mid-field down 10. Allowed 207 yards rushing. Gave up 3 sacks, a safety and an int. Punter with 37 yard average. League rushing leader in training with a 2.8 yard average and a whopping 34 yards. Time to wake up Packer fans, reality is your team stinks like rotten cheese.

  40. commonsense1986 says: Sep 5, 2014 12:51 PM

That was pretty brutal to watch, but hilarious to see the hope in the packers fans responses on here early in the game. I’m thinking the packers should be spending more time at the practice field and let time filming commercials.
