The Seahawks didn’t use running back Marshawn Lynch much in the preseason, giving him just three carries after his holdout delayed his arrival to training camp.
It’s time for the wraps to come off. Coach Pete Carroll says that Lynch looked “on point” in his preseason cameo and is ready to “let it rip” on Thursday night against the Packers. What’s more, Carroll says that the running back looks better going into the regular season than he has at any other point in their time together.
“He looks the fittest he’s been since we’ve been around him. This is the best we’ve seen him at this time of year,” Carroll said, via USA Today. “So, hopefully, that’s a great indication that he’s ready to go. Age has nothing to do with that.”
With no guaranteed money left on his contract after this season, Lynch may be moving on from Seattle when the year comes to an end. He’s there now, though, and it sounds like the Seahawks have no plans to make Beast Mode a less integral part of life this season.
