Pete Carroll: Marshawn Lynch ready to “let it rip”

Marshawn Lynch

The Seahawks didn’t use running back Marshawn Lynch much in the preseason, giving him just three carries after his holdout delayed his arrival to training camp.

It’s time for the wraps to come off. Coach Pete Carroll says that Lynch looked “on point” in his preseason cameo and is ready to “let it rip” on Thursday night against the Packers. What’s more, Carroll says that the running back looks better going into the regular season than he has at any other point in their time together.

“He looks the fittest he’s been since we’ve been around him. This is the best we’ve seen him at this time of year,” Carroll said, via USA Today. “So, hopefully, that’s a great indication that he’s ready to go. Age has nothing to do with that.”

With no guaranteed money left on his contract after this season, Lynch may be moving on from Seattle when the year comes to an end. He’s there now, though, and it sounds like the Seahawks have no plans to make Beast Mode a less integral part of life this season.

    Literally or figuratively??

This guy has never had a true passion for football. It’s been a paycheck for him. When he’s been looking for a paycheck, he plays really hard. He’s gotten paid and he’s got a ring now. He’ll be lucky to crack 1000 yards this season and will probably have under 75 yards tonight.

That’s right let him rip the Packass cheese heads off. Rodgers to play punt return and TT to play D for the pathetic team in little WI.

He will run for 200 yards against the league worst defense! Green Bay has lost 15 straight when they give up 150 plus yards on the ground.

    That’s code for Percy Harvin

  14. Paul M. says: Sep 4, 2014 12:05 PM

The Packers are starting Letroy Guion at nose tackle. A guy who couldn’t even make the Vikings last place defense. Lynch is going to go for 200 easy.

Take it easy new NFL fan since 2013. Guion was released mostly for salary cap purposes because he had a high cap number. The Vikings run a 4-3 and the Packers a 3-4. He fits better as a 3-4 NT. And Josh Boyd will probably play more than Guion. Not to mention that the Packers only run their base defense with a NT 25% of the defensive snaps.

BEAST MODE will be attacking the middle of the Packer’s DL, testing that new rookie nose tackle.

I expect BEAST MODE to run at the middle 2-3 times, which will draw the safeties close to gang tackle the BEAST MODE, because it is the only way you can bring down the BEAST down. This will leave the CB to cover Harvin deep one-on-one… oh my !!!!!

Russell Wilson will orchestrate this plan of attack, burning the Packers deep with touch down passes.

Its been 2 years since the Packers last played the Seahawks. THE PACKERS ARE IN FOR A RUDE AWAKING!!!

They will find out why “THE LEGION OF BOOM” is all the rage last year, and will experience the new OL of attack, the complete package to win another SB.

The Seahawks has a barn full of pass rushers. They can keep the stalions fresh thru out the game with pass rusher attacks to smack down Rodgers before he gets a chance to throw. I expect Rodgers to throw quick short passes for 2-5 yards, and if he throws the slant cross pass, the slot reciever will be saying hello to Kam “BOOM-BOOM” Chancelor!!!

    GO HAWKS !!!!!!

    SEAHAWKS 37 PACKERS 17

12th man will be to much for Rodgers and the new rookie center

    GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!

Hey queenie fans shouldn’t you be arguing with the rest of the bottom feeders convincing yourselves you are not the worst?

Time to let the big boys talk and having said that Lacy is in the exact same mold as Lynch and something we have not had before. Expect some bruising runs from both sides, cant wait.

Everyone hates the Seahawks, because their team has been embarrassed by them at least once during the Carroll era. Honestly, it’s hard to blame these poor saps. I’d probably hate the Seahawks too, if I wasn’t a fan. I mean, how much would it suck to know that your team is going to lose before you even play them? Or to look at Russell Wilson, and realize he is the best to ever play the game, and he’s not on your team.

But damn, do these tears ever taste delicious. I never imagined it would be this good, but it is!!

I like how everyone in Seattle acts like Harvin is the 2nd coming but what they fail to realize is Cobb is back and Harvin never had as dynamic a year as Cobb did 2012 matter of fact Harvin best year he was 300 yds short. Keep believing the hype and you will lay witness to what Cobb can do.

Forget Marshawn……they better WORRY about Mr. Percy Harvin lighting it up tonight!!! :)

    GOHAWKS!!!

It doesn’t matter what kind of seasons harvin and Cobb have had, tonight what matters is Cobb vs the seahawk secondary and har is vs the gb secondary. I’ll take Harkins chances any day.

Yeah but Seattle won the SB without Harvin.

GB had to complete a hail mary vs Chicago even to make the playoffs without Cobb.

  32. themeccalambeaufield says: Sep 4, 2014 5:36 PM

A hail mary against Chicago? Did you even watch the game? Not to mention we played half the season without Rodgers for Gods sake. Did you just become a bandwagon fan or does your username minus the iq signify your condition right now?

A 48 yard TD pass with 38 seconds left to take the lead is close enough to a Hail Mary.

Maybe you should become a fan and watch the game; at least your team’s games.

BTW how did those playoffs WITH ROGERS work out for you?
