Report: Tom Brady not present at practice, will play Sunday

One of the NFL’s top starting quarterbacks reportedly wasn’t seen at the open portion of his club’s practice on Thursday.

According to Lee Schechter and Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t present at the team’s workout early Thursday, but he’s expected to play Sunday at Miami.

It’s not yet known why Brady wasn’t at practice. He was not on the club’s initial injury report Wednesday. He has not missed a start since suffering an ACL tear in the 2008 regular season opener against Kansas City.

Over the years, Brady has shown up on the injury report with a right shoulder ailment, but it’s never kept him out of the lineup. And Thursday’s ESPN Boston report suggests his absence today isn’t a major deal, either.

Wasn’t he at the Kentucky Derby with Welker?

Maybe somebody who is 5′-8″ with hair implants is protesting his suspension and throwing old friends under the bus.

Probably got traded for a 3rd round pick and an average receiver.

I think he’s getting a day off practice due to what Mike Tomlin always calls a “birth certificate contusion.” Old people sometimes need an extra day off.

No way he gets sacked four times. After the second one, the game is automatically forfeited in favor of the Patriots.

Brady is one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks ever.
Having said that, I hope Wake, Oderick, Olivier, and Starks have a field day on Sunday, and make it a miserable outing for TB. It’s time.
