Why John Kuhn’s TD was a nice score in more ways than one

When Packers fullback John Kuhn scored the first touchdown in Thursday night’s Packers-Seahawks season opener, many fantasy football fans were left to frown. After all, it was Kuhn, not tailback and universal fantasy starter Eddie Lacy, who got the score.

However, there were others who apparently really, really liked Kuhn’s two-yard scoring rush — and we’re not talking about the Packers fans who have been known to yell his name at Lambeau Field.

Via Twitter, online betting site Sportsbook.ag reported that Kuhn’s score caused “a pretty big loss” on a proposition asking bettors to pick the player who scored first. Kuhn opened at 70-1 and was bet to 20-1, the sportsbook said.

Kuhn scored just once in each of the last two seasons for Green Bay. He did, however, record six TDs in 2011, a season in which Green Bay scored 70 times.

And at the risk of redboarding, we’ll stop right there.
