The Dolphins got just the start to the season that they were looking for.

New England got the ball first, but couldn’t get a first down and had to punt after three plays. They never got the kick off as Chris McCain blocked Ryan Allen’s kick and Jason Trusnick recovered the ball inside the red zone to set the Dolphins up in prime field position.

Ryan Tannehill found Lamar Miller for a four-yard touchdown pass four plays later and the Dolphins lead 7-0 after a little more than three minutes of play in Miami.

The Patriots gave tight end Rob Gronkowski his first action on third-and-four on their first possession. Tom Brady looked his way while being flushed by some Miami pressure, but the pass fell incomplete to lead to the fateful punt.
