The Dolphins will have a new look at safety on Sunday.

Reshad Jones has been suspended for the first four games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs and Chris Clemons signed with the Texans as a free agent, leaving Miami with two new starters for the first game of the season. They may wind up turning back the clock, though.

Jones will be back in the lineup next month and Clemons could join him after being released by the Texans this week. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have made an inquiry to their former player to gauge his interest in a return to Miami.

No offer has been made at this point, but teams often look to add veteran free agents after the first week of the regular season because they don’t have to guarantee their salaries for the remainder of the season. If the Dolphins don’t like what they see against the Patriots on Sunday, they could make such a move with Clemons before they travel to Buffalo in Week Two.
