NFL suspends LaRon Landry four games for PED violation

AP

Colts safety LaRon Landry is the latest player busted for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

The league announced today that Landry has been suspended for the next four games for violating the PED policy. As is standard practice, the NFL did not announce the specifics of Landry’s violation.

Landry will have to stay away from the team facility starting now and through Monday, October 27.

Landry’s offseason workout program has been a topic of discussion among bodybuilders for years, as his enormous physique looks more like what you’d expect to see at a Mr. Olympia competition than an NFL game. Now Landry will face questions about what, exactly, he did to build that physique.

I’m shocked. He looks like a walking side effect of steroid abuse.

  2. nyyjetsknicks says: Sep 29, 2014 4:49 PM

They shouldn’t suspend him the four games. The fact that he went this long without getting caught is incredible.

  3. wawa33 says: Sep 29, 2014 4:49 PM

Fidel Goodell did not see the video of Landry’s physique and no one from the NFL office’s did either.

you cant make this stuff up. how has this guy not been popped for PEDs before? NFL testing is a joke if this guy made it thru this long. just google this moron. more interested in being buff than a good safety. guy is horrible

About time, this dude’s arms are HUGE. It look like he works out arms everyday, and just skips every other muscle. I always had a suspicion something was going on with him.

  6. bonnovi says: Sep 29, 2014 4:50 PM

    Big surprise.

  7. phillycheez says: Sep 29, 2014 4:50 PM

Apparently the risk of a four game suspension pales in contrast to the prospect of being relevant in the league and keeping your job. This penalty needs to be stiffened if they really want this to go away.

He should appeal, some of Welker’s sweat probably just flew into his mouth in week 1.

  16. calhounlambeau says: Sep 29, 2014 4:53 PM

How does this guy still play in the league? Every time I watch him he’s giving up big plays. His brother is better, and not jacked up.

    Is Viagra a PED?

  18. masthaystoe says: Sep 29, 2014 4:54 PM

Could this be from HGH making him the first bust? How else would he have gotten past the tests all these years?

  19. jacklambertslovechild says: Sep 29, 2014 4:56 PM

Has HGH testing already started? Could be the answer to everyone’s question.

Let him off the hook— Anybody that juiced up who has gotten away with it for so long deserves a medal, not a suspension.

  28. palatypus says: Sep 29, 2014 5:17 PM

Anyone else beginning to wonder about Reggie Wayne? He’s 35 years old, coming off an completely torn ACL from last year, and tearing up the league.

    Kinda like Robert Mathis.

  29. hakunamangata says: Sep 29, 2014 5:19 PM

Gee, a guy who’s biceps are bigger than his head is suspended for PEDs?

    Shocking.

Who’s in charge of testing over there? Stevie Wonder?

  33. ialwayswantedtobeabanker says: Sep 29, 2014 5:47 PM

The only thing shocking about this development, is that it’s hard to believe it took this long for LL to get busted for PEDs.

  34. packy305 says: Sep 29, 2014 5:50 PM

When will Goodell suspend himself for impostering a commissioner !

  35. ravenswhat says: Sep 29, 2014 6:03 PM

Shocking. The guy looked like the Incredible Hulk.

  36. olddirtytruth says: Sep 29, 2014 6:05 PM

As a Colt fan I see it as not much of a loss. He played well against the Titans and Jags but absolutely sucked against the Broncos and Eagles. Looking forward to see what someone else can do at the position. See you in 4 games Laron, have a nice vacation.

  37. zoellner25 says: Sep 29, 2014 6:12 PM

Regardless, this guy is beyond jacked. I can’t believe he can run, you’d think he’d just tip over.

  38. captainwhodat says: Sep 29, 2014 6:15 PM

If Luck gets them into the playoffs with that no-name defense, my hat’s off to him…

  39. charmcityravens says: Sep 29, 2014 6:28 PM

Didn’t Colts player Robert Mathis also get busted for PEDs? What’s going on with Indy’s defense’s “supplement regiment”? The Indianapolis Colts…sponsored by Balco.

  40. dickensbslim says: Sep 29, 2014 6:50 PM

It’d be nice if it were for HGH, but the HGH test won’t be able to catch anyone. It’s simply window dressing.

Getting past the PED testing has more to do with IQ than anything else. The loopholes are such that even Trent Richardson could run through them.

  41. bullcharger says: Sep 29, 2014 6:55 PM

If the league ever truly put a real drug testing policy in place the size of the players would reduce dramatically. Even guys that aren’t obvious steroid users like Landry have probably used at some point in their career. People can’t get as big and as fast as some of the players in a natural way. It would be impossible.

  42. campcouch says: Sep 29, 2014 6:58 PM

Let em juice. I’ll await the day when someone explodes on contact.

  43. abninf says: Sep 29, 2014 7:12 PM

Yeah his coaches, trainers, teammates, friends and family had no idea.

  44. Youknowimright says: Sep 29, 2014 7:28 PM

He just has a forehead with two eyeballs that connects directly to his shoulders. Yeah you didn’t really need to test that guy to know what was going on there.

  45. chaney13 says: Sep 29, 2014 7:36 PM

Oh come one everyone, he’s just trying to have a kid, like Robert Mathis

  46. deuce656 says: Sep 29, 2014 9:03 PM

    Hey Charmcityravens

good thing Ray Rice wasn’t on PEDs or he may have knocked out his…..oh wait,

Ever since Brandon Jacobs ran him over when he played with with the skins, Landry has been on a muscle mission. I think his confidence got shattered
