Tension? What tension?

Whatever problems that bubbled to the surface following the Patriots’ thrashing on Monday Night Football two weeks ago are long gone now with a convincing win on a national stage.

So it stands to reason any of the reports of tension — say, between quarterback Tom Brady and the coaching staff — would be scoffed at this week.

“I’m not necessarily aware to what you’re referring to. Whatever reports are, they are what they are. You’d have to ask the people that reported that,” McDaniels said, via Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal. “I know that it’s exciting for us to come to work together. And I look forward to working each week with the staff and the players and trying to put together the best plan that we can. I think we have a lot of fun doing that.”
McDaniels and Brady have worked together a long time, having won Super Bowls and set records together. So McDaniels said they’re only growing closer as years pass.

“When I came over to the offense and started working with him in ’04, I spent more time with him than I do anybody, honestly, for these six or seven months,” McDaniels said. “It’s hard not to become very close to those kinds of people that you work with and interact with on a daily basis.

“Things naturally, you get closer as you go and you experience more and know more about the other person, the things they do and like and a lot of things that don’t even involve football as well. I’ve been fortunate to have this experience in my life. It’s certainly something I look forward to each day.”

Then they all got together, sang a few bars of kum-ba-yah, and roasted marshmallows around the campfire.

At least until the next time they lose.
