Three 49ers defensive backs are questionable for Sunday’s matchup at Denver, per the club’s injury report.

Rookie defensive back Jimmie Ward, a key part of the club’s “sub” packages, might be most questionable of all after missing a third straight practice Friday because of a quadricep injury.

Cornerbacks Tramaine Brock (toe) and Chris Culliver (shoulder) are also questionable. Culliver did not practice Friday after being limited Thursday. Brock was limited Friday, just as he’s been all week.

Also questionable is right tackle Anthony Davis, who was a limited participant in all three practices this week with knee and ankle ailments.

While Davis, Brock, Culliver and Ward are technically 50-50 shots to play, left guard Mike Iupati (concussion) and inside linebacker Patrick Willis (concussion) have been ruled out. Neither is a surprise.

However, the majority of the players on the Niners’ injury list are expected to play. Seven players are probable: Cornerback Chris Cook (quadricep), cornerback Perrish Cox (quadricep), tight end Vernon Davis (back), wide receiver Steve Johnson (hip) defensive end Tony Jerod-Eddie (shoulder), defensive tackle Ian Williams (ankle) and defensive end Justin Smith (not injury related).
