Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz made a couple of revelations during his first meeting with reporters since tearing his patellar tendon in last Sunday night’s loss to the Eagles.

Cruz said that he’s filmed a video for his Giants teammates to watch on Saturday night in hopes of giving them a burst of inspiration before they take on their NFC East rivals in Dallas. Cruz also shared that Eagles coach Chip Kelly showed that those divisional rivalries have their time and place by visiting him at the hospital in Philadelphia where Cruz spent the night after suffering the injury.

As you’d imagine, Cruz also discussed the rehab he’s about to start. Timelines don’t mean much this close to the injury, but Cruz, who said he hasn’t watched video of the injury and doesn’t plan to, is confident that he’ll make it past the obstacles to come.

“No, I don’t have any doubt in my mind. I don’t have any doubt that I’ll be back,” Cruz said, via Art Stapleton of the North Jersey Record. “I don’t have any doubt that my rehab process will be successful and that I’ll be in tip top shape and ready to go when the time is right. I don’t have any doubt in my mind. I’ve never been bred that way. I’ve just never believed in doubt.”

Cruz beat some long odds to make it to the NFL in the first place, so there’s little doubt about the drive he’ll have propelling him through his recovery. He’s been one of the most entertaining players of the last few years, so we share the hope that he’s back sooner rather than later.
