The Browns added an extra set of hands at a position of need on Saturday, promoting rookie defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel from the practice squad, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

McDaniel (6-0, 293) played collegiately at Florida State. He was waived by the Browns at the end of the preseason but re-signed to the practice squad.

The Browns are down two defensive ends for Sunday’s game at Jacksonville, with Phil Taylor (knee) and Billy Winn (quadricep) out. Also, defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin (ankle) is questionable.

With McDaniel added to the roster, the Browns waived tight end Gerell Robinson, according to the Beacon Journal.
