The Bills lost running back C.J. Spiller for the day when he was carted off the field after a 53-yard run in the first half of their game against the Vikings.

It looks like it is going to be a while before Spiller gets back into the lineup. Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reports that the initial diagnosis is that Spiller broke his collarbone on the play.

If so, Spiller would be out for much or all of the rest of the regular season. That’s a blow to the Bills offense and to Spiller, who is in the final year of his contract and got hurt on perhaps his best run of the season shortly after Fred Jackson went down with a groin injury. Spiller would have been in line for a lot more work, but now he’ll have to rehab the injury instead.

Jackson is set for an MRI on his groin and Bryce Brown will almost certainly going to get some work in the coming weeks.
